Hi all,

We have 5 Mitel 3300 ICPs, and I have finally configured Mobile Exchange to work correctly with 1 of them.

I have now tried to expand the configuration to to other 4 ICPs, however I'm experiencing a strange issue.

I've created one domain within Mobile Extension for each 3300. I create the desktop monitor on the 3300 which has the desktop extension, and a couple of outgoing lines on each 3300 as well. Domain 'ME002' is the very first domain, which everything works on, 'ME001' is one of the newer domains, which is having a problem.

When I ring the desktop on 'ME002', the desk phone rings, and the user status goes to On-Ringing. After a couple of rings the mobile starts to ring and when I pickup, the status goes to On-Talk.

When I ring the desktop on 'ME001' the desk phone rings once then stops. The user status goes to On-Talk. After a moment, the mobile starts to ring, which I can then pickup.

After looking at the desktop phone on 'ME001', after it has stopped ringing, the line light is illuminated and if I press it, I can pickup the call. It seems as if the outgoing line is incorrectly telling Mobile Extension it has been answered before it is.

It I set the twin number to be something other than a mobile, this doesn't happen, and the desk phone rings as expected.

It I set an outgoing line on'ME002' as a domain from 'ME001' (which isn't the way I would want to have the system) then it does appear to work and the desk phone on 'ME001' rings continually until it or the mobile is answered.

The exact same things happens for the remaining 3 3300s. I have checked and double checked the Class of Service settings for the outgoing line. I know this seems like a bizarre problem, does anyone have any suggestions?

You are correct that ME thinks the cell phone has answered. I have the exact problem with cell phones that are long distance from our office. Local phones work no problem but we use a third party for long distance on our ISDN that intercepts all long distance calls and asks for a passcode. ME sees this as answer and so it stops ringing the desktop ( all calls go to the cell voicemail and will not recall to the embedded VM. Sorry to say I was never able to get a fix other then sending calls to the particular phones out over copper. There is a COS setting regarding ignoring answer or something like that but I don't have any other answer.

P.S moving to Dynamic Extension in MCD 4 has eliminated the problem.

I know we have some form of ISDN link with what was described to me as a bank of SIM cards for calling mobiles. There is no passcode or anything like that.

The thing which I don't get is why it works fine with the outgiong line on ME002, but not any of the other ones. I believe the ISDN link only from ME001, so any other 3300 has to go via this to place the call.

I might look for that CoS setting.

On the outgoing line (phone that dials the ISDN trunk) make sure you have "Suppress Simulated CCM after ISDN progress" set to yes in it's Class of service.

isrm,

Thanks, you were correct. I had checked and double checked my settings - however the notes I made had the Desktop Monitor and Outgoing Lines CoS the wrong way round - so there was no 'suppress simulated CCM' for the outgoing lines. Changed and all is working.

Now to find out how to pull off the billing data!
