Mobex (02 Mobile Phones) Link

Hi all,

Trying to set up a DS1 card to talk to a a Mobex ISDN line. Anyone done this before? O2 and BT have been nigh on useless (BT didn't even know difference between RJ45 and Coax....)

I've been told it's a standard qsig ISDN 30 trunk. Possibly with a DSM100 at the other end.

I need all the signalling, trunk and DS1 card settings.

Any help, most appreciated!

Hi,

Have Been using Mobex (Cellnet) for years on a Siemens iSDX, when I migrated to a G3-R Definity the migration went fairly smoothly, no real configuration issues except with diverts, this was down to signalling config on DS1. I take it that the Mobex link is a 2MB DPNSS/QSIG Private circuit going to Keybridge house ? Or into Featurenet ? Its just that I have never heard of Mobex working over an ISDN30 in terms of by individual exchange lines.

One issue with the Definity is that you need an Interchange card for each DS1 to support DPNSS, by default it only supports QSIG from what I remember (Because it only conforms to part of the UK standards).

Is this the first time you have used Mobex ?

BT should be able to give you better support as they are both an Avaya channel partner and mobex specialists.

We use a mobex link to O2 currently, our connection is using a DPNSS link between the Definity and the O2 network. The installation was very smooth and we have had no issues since it was installed. If you choose this route you will need to purchase a DPNSS interchange card.

OK.. will have to check this becauase someone at O2 told me the following:

This link will employ QSIG signalling so you need to ensure that you have the correct card. I believe that it may be that an ISDN card can be configured for this signalling format.
The QSIG variant will be "Cornet NQ" which is a Siemens propriety term basically indicating that the signalling occurs in t/slot 16.

We have got another DPNSS link to our other office and to use that we needed an IQ2000 DPNSS to QSIG converter.

This is the first time we've used the Mobex link on our new Avaya phone system. We've moved our phone system to a new office, and replaced it from an old Mitel exchange to a new IP Avaya S8700/G600 setup.
