mmc_2k.sys?

I need help. I have a file in my computer that causes it to dump the hard drive. The file is: mmc_2k.sys.

How do I fix it so it doesn't dump?

Any information you can help me with will be greatfully appreciated. Thank you!

Go to (almost universally used search engine) and search for mmc_2k.sys. Sorry - have become used to people knowing what googling means!

Thank you but all of a sudden while on the phone with Microsoft we found that a CD-Rom is not installed. Well, if you have been on line before, don't you need that to be on line?
