We have multiple networks here, multiple domains and exchange servers, but everyone uses the same VM box and phone system. Can MM work?

jd99, This question came up recetly and the Avaya ATAC gave some basic guide lines to follow.

Topology
1) All MAS units must be on the same LAN segment as any peer Microsoft Exchange server. 2)All Microsoft Exchange servers must be on the same LAN as the MAS.

Peer Exchange server
1) Each MAS has a single primary peer Exchange server. The administrator can configure the MAS to communicate with another Exchange server to act as a peer when the primary peer Exchange server goes offline.
2)Different MAS units in a VMD can have different peer Exchange servers.

Directory Server
1)Different MAS units in a VMD can have different directory servers that are replicas of each other.
2)Each directory server can be a server of more than one VMD.

Capacity
1)An e-mail server can be a peer server for more than one MAS.
2)An e-mail server can be a host to more than one VMD.
3)A VMD can have multiple e-mail servers.
