We have Avaya Modular Messaging on our switch. I add and delete mailboxes all the time as our needs change. I currently have about 200 mailboxes assigned. I have a few mailbox users who complain that the system forces them to change their password occasionally, but most users (including myself) are never forced to change passwords. Affected and unaffected users have the same "class of service" assignment. I've tried deleting and re-assigning the mailbox but the problem persists.

Anybody know why this might be happening or clue me in on what to look for?

Seems like it is a system wide setting in VM confugration/telephone users interface settings. I dont see any way to overrride it if the check box is not set to enable password expiry it shouldnt do it for anyone.

My guess is that they are logging in and pressing the personal config and change password buttons at the same time. It is password 49 on my system. So if I enter password#49 the first thing I hear is "enter your new password now". Do they hear that message or the "you must change your password now" message?

User are getting a message telling them their password has expired.
