MM Announces a Message Even Though One Doesn't Exist

We have a voice-only (no corresponding Outlook account) Modular Messaging account that, upon logging in, announces there is one voice mail message. After pressing 2 to retrieve the messages, it announces there are no voice mail messages. It's very odd. Any ideas? Thanks.

Is this MM for Exchange or MM for MSS? Are you sure it isn't announcing that there are administrative messages (those are not voice messages)?

If this is a MSS system you may have to rebuild the mailbox.

Do you have web subscriber options installed? If you do you could log in to the mbx through there and see if there's a message.
