I have MM with SIP integration.

I have created a subscriber with Cos using a fax service.

The problem is:

When the external user send a fax using a hard fax machine, he hear a Voicemail message so he consider that the fax of the customer doesn't work.

So please is there any solution to route the call without hearing the mailbox announce " Welcome to Avaya messaging....)

thank you

On the external machine call to the MM Pilot number or directly to the customer mailbox? If the mailbox, you will hear the MM begin speaking prior to the fax tone. Once the fax tone is detected the fax should be sent.

Another question, is the mailbox using the Secondary Extension for fax?

Yes I use a secondary extension for FAX.

The problem is that when the external user hear the MM speaking he hung up the FAX machine and suppose that the Fax number is Wrong.

So please any idea how I can resolve this issue ?

many thanks.

the only solution is to have a second mailbox with a fax tone recorded as the greeting

Or instruct the user to record somewhere in their greeting "if you are trying to send a fax press the start/send button now" or something to that affect. I would not use a fax tone as a greeting because then the sending fax machine will try to handshake when MM is not ready for that process.
