I am trying to program a Merlin Mail system, but I am not having any luck. I am new to this, so bare with me. In the documentation, it says I can program the system by accessing the System Programmming menu from the MLX-20L. When I push the menu button, it come up as MENU MODE:Select Feature. I cannot push the "Sys Program" button like it tells me to in the manual, because there is no button that says that. The closest there is to that button is "Ext Program" which is obviously extension programming. I cannot get to this menu, so am I screwed? Also, WinSPM isn't any help because I don't have a DB-9 to DB-9 cable. Please help me.

Keith,

try the MLX20l in each of the first five ports until you get the programming menu.

Each of the five ports on the back of the Merlin Mail box?

Kieth,
You first have to program the phone system ( system programming is through the 20L on ports 1,2,3,4,or 5)to recognize that there is a voice mail system on it then you have to program the merlin mail by dialing INTO the voice mail and following menus and prompts.

Don

No the first 5 ports on the first MLX card in your Legend. One is designated as the "program port" and from that, you can run the MLX-20l programming interface.

If you're not sure how the system is laid out or if it's not numbered very well, you are looking for the leftmost "MLX" card, bottom five ports....
