My company is using a Compaq prolient ML350 G3, with a single xeon processor and 8GB of memory. The problem is that even though there is only one processor, it shows up in the os and task manager performance as 2 processors.
The next problem is that after we installed the 8GB of ram the os is only reading 4gb.
Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks, Brandon.

Brandon,
Check to make sure hyperthreading is turned off. It's in the system configuration somewhere. You get to it by pressing F10 (I think) when the server is booting. There should be a prompt for it.

As for the OS, what are you using?

Greg

We are currently using Windows 2000, even though the server is a 2002-3

Brandon,
Does the server show 8GB memory on POST (boot-up)? If not, try reseating it. If it does, then it would appear to be an OS issue. Is your OS up-to-date on patches?
Greg

Yes our os is up to date on patches, and ill give it a shot.
