ML Update

Dear all

I have a basic question. We have some servers that are running on AIX 4.3.3 ML6. If I want to update them to ML10, do I need to insert the ML10 CD and do "smitty update_all" to update. Is this that simple. The following are my questions:

1. Can we do direct update from ML6 to ML10.
2. Do we need to take any precaution before Upgrade like OS Migration.

The method of update you have chosen is fine. Generally, there are no issues with that method as far as your second concern is. There is always a chance something could break - so take at leat 2 mksysb's before you start.

Make sure when you request the ML update cd you say you need to upgrade from ML6 to ML10 I have a few that assumed I was at the previous level so I had some filesets missed
