I have an ML/EL system where I have x199 assigned to night bells....I just can't remember how to make it ring. The console already forwards calls to the SS extension on dial 0 calls, so I'm almost there.

Help? Otherwise I'm gonna have to read the database of a modemless system to see how I set it up :)

I have a superconsole 1000 and a SS4xxx at the front desk. I also have x199 connected to a night bell. When calls come in to the console, I want to ring the night bell and a cordless phone. I have another property where they either press NS1 or auto switch into the night mode and ring the cordless. I just don't remember how I set it up.

Geeze, it was only 5 years ago.

someone with SX2k need to help with this.
thought you may be using 3300.

routing the calls to N1 or N2 is done in form 14 assuming you are using analogue trunking. I do not know of a way you can ring both the console and a nite bell at the same time. Is the nite bell actually an extension and you are using directed pickup to access it?
you can overflow the console to an extension if you want using option 107 in console cos.

Your post is too vague to answer.

Why don't you save everyone some time and start over with some real details.

e.g.
what is the bell connected to?
when and how does it turn on
did it ever work before
who answers it and how
what happens if it is not answered.
Does anything else need to happen while its ringing

1. The bell is connected to x199 seems simple enough.
2. It rings when 199 is dialed.
3. Of course not, else I wouldn't be posting here.
4. Whoever can dial tha Call Pickup code.
5. I think it's going to go to voice mail EZ advantage style.
6. Like what?

This solves itself Wednesday morning, I am going to read my other database.

For those who asked, the system is an SX-200 EL. I'm about to (stupidly) add 2 SX-50's to my customer base. Just shoot me.

the call could go to x199 in the two ways I explained, possibly picking the call up from x199 from the console using call pickup maybe under one of the programmable keys. Hope this helps.

Oops, I just remembered the wrinkle in the system. x199 is the NIGHT BELL (form 18 option 14). I'm getting the CRS disease. The customer provided NB is looking for a contact closure. In the other site, we just ring the cordless and superset next to the console.

This is the crap the customer sprang on me...as long as you're here let's do this, and that. You did it at our other job site (with another sytsem entirely btw) so how come you can't do it here. How come the ringdown only rings the console and not 3 phones.

I don't know, I guess because Lightware 17 doesn't have that feature.

Your answers to my questions are insufficient.

It rings when 199 is called is laughable.

Have fun

Strange is I'm not laughing. It rings 199 because that's the number I put into the program. There's a MOH/Page card in the system....but that's clear for the Night Bell to be in the system.

I have a similar setup from 6 years ago and I don't have my notes from that system...the paperless system didn't start until fall of '03 (good thing the MOSS sheet is between the cabinets!)

Anyway. Thanks to most of you for trying. Come over to my area and ask questions and I'll try to be as snide as some of you.

LkEErie,

Consider the following Methods of making a night bell ring:

199 programmed in form 18 using contacts and external ring generator.

199 programmed as ONS station connected directly to bells

199 programmed as ARS selecting Trunk connected to external device to ring Bell

In all of these instances dialing 199 will "Ring the Bell"

When you are asked for more details, it is in in an effort to help you accomplish your goal.

When you reply with short flippant answers, don't be surprised when interest in helping you wanes. I'm willing to bet everyone that has read this post has now decided to wait until Wed and let you figure it out for yourself. I know that is my intent.
