Mixed Mode ...

Hi, last week end I upgrade my BDC with Windows 2000, promoting it as PDC (out of the network) upgrade.
I insert it in lan with PDC Nt 4.0 off, start the W2K server Ok, start the NT server Ok
If I look in server manager of Nt the old primary is shown as backup (that's correct!) but netlogon did not start because there is another Primary in the network ... (event id 3097)
Net accounts shows the Nt server as a primary ..... and I'm not able to demote it ....
Ideas? Suggestions?

p.s I found come where an article that descrides how to change a security key in registry .... belive me .. don't do it!!!! God save backups!

I had a similar problem with getting a BDC to join a 2000 domain - I used SRVMGR in Windows 2000 as suggested in the following webpage

srvmgr is located in systemroot\system32

It's not my case ....
I've made some changes now the thing is "strange".
Nt server manager says to be primary ...
W2K server manger says to be rpimary ...

This week i will upgrade Nt to W2k and hope!

I did somthing very simalar -
I ended upgrading the NT4 server to Win2k because I had tried everything else.
This worked!
