I've got another one. When I check in a guest room via the console; call the room number, it rings several times, the system answers and tells me that it is transferring me to the operator. Suggestions?

Thanks

Forgot to add that I have the guest rooms & IP phones Call Rerouting First Alternative is set to THIS for everything & the Directory Number is the voice mail hunt group DN. When I call an IP phone extension, it covers to voice mail. Thanks

Do the Extensions have voice mailboxes? If they dont have voice mailboxes the call rerouting will send the call into voicemail but as there's no mailbox created it dosent know where to send the call, hence the message youre getting.

Just a thought

This is the standard response of a Guest Mailbox that has not been checked in.

Check in the mailbox.

Thanks for replying kwb. You are correct; when you call a vacant guest room, the call will cover to the operator. But, the room is checked in. I checked it in via the 5540 IP console; then verified the room was checked in via the console and in the Guest Rooms form. Both show the room as occupied.

You checked the room in, but did not check the mailbox in (needs to be done from the front desk mailbox)
If they have PMS software then it will do both automatically, if not then you have to manually do both separately

lowradiation, thanks for replying. Yes you were correct. I am programming the system in my lab with no PMS or PMS emulator. I set up the front desk mailbox and enabled the MSI lamp in the ONS/OPS form. Problem solved. Thanks

I think that statement can cause confusion

There are 2 interfaces. 1 Each for the PBX and VM

Unless the PMS software is configured to do both it will not do both.

kwbMitel, you're right. I'm sure I don't have to tell you though. Lol! Thanks for clearing that up.
