Hi,

I have set up a hunt group with a DDI, that is called forwarded to a mobile as a out of hours number. The guys that use this have asked if I can change the CLI of the outgoing call to be something different from our main number.

I have set the hunt group with no members and they divert it off using the call forward follow me third party code under a key. This all works fine its just the CLI of the outgoing that I'd like to change.

I was on the brink of saying that it can't be done but thought it's worth an ask before I say no.

Many Thanks

Depends on whether your communications provider will allow numbers not allocated to the circuit to be forwarded to the external party. If they will then yes you can. If they only allow the main number then no. However I would expect it to have to be either the main number or the actual DDI number.

While it may be possible, and off the top of my head I don't know how, I feel it would be more bother than it's worth.

I've just worked this out [wink]. If I use one of the embedded analogue extn's and use the same call forward follow me third party on that extn then I can control the outgoing cli for the call diverted via the extn programming.

Maybe, I would say not.

1. If forwarded immediately, the call never really attaches to the phone and the phone settings don't apply
2. Even if it does somehow miraculously work, the number sent by defaul on the Mitel is the Inbound number

If by "worked this out" you mean you have a plan, then keep my caveats in mind when testing.

To get what is required the call needs to be initiated internally. No amount of smoke and mirrors is going to overcome that issue. To get an outbound call to show a specific CPN that is not the default by forwarding an inbound call is simply not possible. The system needs to think the call initiated internally and from a device that can have a configurable CPN. As I said earlier, far more bother than it's worth.

After testing kwbMitel has it right, the call never really show any other CIL other then the default, It did change however if I dialed the DDI or the internal number but I still could not control what was sent of via CPN Dn or DID. Sad face!

I guess my engineers will just have to figure out that a call at 3am is for the 24 hour call out and not someone in the office calling them. ;)

what kind of trunks are they ?

for sip on some sites ,we have set the default cpn to be something other than the main number

this means that twinned calls for example show this new default number and users know that its a twinned call

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Worked this one out again and tested it this time! Just needed to set "Replace External CLID" to true in the ISDN protocol and it worked a treat, took the cli from the CPN sub settings.

sorry don't get you wireman, the system has always sent the cli via the CPN, but in the case of the call forward it was show the main cli and not the alog extn that we wanted, changing the step above was the toggle to get this to work.

And i'm aware of the CLI sending options from the network provider, the problem was always with the call forward as I'd tested the CPN settings via the alog extn to make sure that worked.
