Hi all,
Hopefully someone can help with a forgotten MSL admin password.
We have just taken over a MiVoice Business Express system running 13.0.1.53(OVA 7.1.0.55)
The IT company installed the OVA file and setup the admin password.
This IT company has now moved on and they changed the admin password and emailed this to the new IT company.
Unfortunately the old and new passwords don't work.
As we can't login, we don't have a backup and the old IT company won't answer our calls.
I have found the below from 2009, has anyone tried this on the latest MSL???
Jan 20, 2009 9:11 PM -Installed 2 months ago...User changed Admin password and doesn't
* remember it anymore
* Here is the password recovery process:
*
* 1. When the server is booting and you see the screen for the boot
* option (SME Server-up EL or SME Server) enter an (A) to modify the
* kernel arguments before booting.
* 2. Type in a space then the word (single)
* you will see.. grub append> ro root=/dev/main/root_ single
* (the system will start to boot but will stop at sh-3.00#)
* 3. type passwd admin
* 4. type the new password and confirm it
* 5. type passwd root
* 6. type the new password and confirm it
* 7. reboot the server
