Hi all.

Is it possible to configure a button/ key on MiVoice console such that when activated gives the option to unbar an extension and when deactivated the extension can return to being barred?

Is there a reason you would not want to use something like verified account codes though?

I can't think of a way to unrestrict 1 phone

You could use something like Night2 restrictions to allow calls but I believe as soon as you put the console in night2 it will make itself absent and then you have to go back to day mode.

Really Kludgy.

It will not be restricting one phone as such but any phone that request to be unbarred at that time.

PMS is a property management system usually associated with a Hotel

This unbars extensions when a guest room is checked in then bars again when the guest room is checked out.

You can program an independent account code that will change the COS and COR when the code is dialled before placing a call then when the call is terminated the extension will revert to its usual COS and COR.

Or the extension can call the operator and they can place the call for them ?

Could you not setup the system as a hotel and then check the phones in and out for allowing calls. Typically checked out phones are blocked until a guest checks in where they can then make calls. Depending on the console there is a guest services key that can be used to check guests in and out in lieu of a PMS system. Read the help files to setup the system.

You can't duct tape stupid.

hotel options are extra cost I believe unless the system was purchased as such

How would one go about setting up PMS given the licenses are there and which licenses exactly?

I think you're be led afield. Implementing an application to change restrictions on the phone using licensing that you probably do not have is not a simple solution.

It would be just as easy to change the COR programming on the fly. (i.e. not easy at all)

Doesn't an attendant transfer override restriction? Might be the only way to do it as the system is currently set up.

Managed with the Guest Service.
I now need to integrate with Midas. Any instructions please.
