Hi all.

I have the above console on release 8.0 that has one way audio. When calling IP phones the user of the IP phone can hear the user of the console but the console operator will not hear.
I have also tried console releases 7.0, 7.1 and 7.2 and the issue is the same.
I am connecting to ICP Release 8.0 PR1. Active Software: 14.0.0.91 .
The connection is that an IP phone is connected directly to the controller and the console also directly. there is no switch and this rules out the network.
I have attached Wireshark traces in case they show something that I don't see.
Console is on a PC= 192.168.1.10, MitelICP = 192.168.1.2, IP phone = 192.168.1.112
What might be causing the one way audio and how can it be solved?

I don't see a wireshark attachment??

A few questions:
Does the operator hear other indications like ringback?
What happens on external calls and what type of trunks do you have?
Can you call embedded voicemail from the console and hear anything?

Cross Check ur gateway setting of operator console with other working phones.

Gateway is the same for the operator console and working phones.
The gateways is also up and working.
What else must I check?

So this is a CX11i then ? I assume as much since you say both are connected to the controller or is it a MX and you are trying to use LAN and WAN?

Check or disable your firewall on the PC also any antivirus and test again.

MxeIII, phone to LAN port 1 and console PC to back of phone or PC to LAN port 2 which has a layer 2 ip address in the same subnet as port 1.

Sorry, please confirm that the Console and the Phone are on the same network. That seems highly unlikely considering your symptoms

You need to confirm the routing between networks. When the call is answered the connection is peer to peer. Based on your original post, the Network where the Console resides has the proper routing to the Phone Network. (Console can be heard by phone). The reverse is obviously not true as the Phone cannot be heard by the Console.

Easiest test at this point would be to place Laptops on each network and run tracert between them.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

It is a single network. No gateway required as it is not required to leave the subnet. Subnet is 192.168.1.0/24 and default gateway of 192.168.1.254/24. Two laptops can reach each other without a gateway but the gateway is there. I really think it's nothing to do with the gateway.
Two IP phones can communicate fine except IP phone to console.

Then look at the networking on the windows PC as already said. Looks like a port issue to me and therefore probaly the windows firewall as already mentioned. turning it off doesn't always turn it off but I can't remember the steps to get rid of the blasted thing. we had an issue that even though we had authenticated it for the app( I think it was a softphone) it still stopped the app from working. And antivirus as Sarond said although I think it is as simple as port blocking or being re written incoming and outgoing.

Mind you we have just had a right job of getting some sIP trunks right and it turned out to be a bug in the software that not many would have seen and probably wouldn't believe; so never take anything for granted.

Right now the PC firewall is disabled and anti-virus uninstalled. Problem is persisting. Which ports maybe blocked?

Are you sure of the windows firewall is off? I have mine turned 'off' yet if I go to services it is still running (which is ok for me).

Run "services.msc" and set Windows Firewall service to Disabled or Manual to make sure it never starts in the first place.

Hi all.

I have ascertained that default gateways for IP phones and MVB are the same and that the gateway is up and still get one way audio.
Audio from the IP phones does not reach MVB.
Windows firewall is disabled from services.
What might be causing this and the possible fix? I have isolated the network and connected MVB and IP phone directly to the Lan port of the 3300 and still get one way audio( i.e. IP phone to Lan port 1 and PC for MVB taking from the back of the IP phone)

I suspect there could be some codec mismatch.
How do I set codecs on Windows PC for the MVB?
