I'm programming my 3300 for a hotel. A 5540 IP console, two 5340e and 1 5320e ip phones will be the answer points for the main number and the 0 out option. The property is getting a PRI with a block of DIDs. I thought I could program a console softkeys and point the external and internal (0 out)calls to it; then add those keys to the other IP phones. That was a fail as the system won't allow the addition of console softkeys to IP phones as far as I know.

So my question is how can I program inbound external & internal calls to the console and three additional IP phones?

I created a hunt group and tried adding the console softkey but the system rejected it. I tried a ring group but got the same result as the hunt group.

There must be a creative way to program this call handling for the main and 0 out option.

Thanks

There is no sub-att functionality on a 3300

LDN's can only be programmed on Consoles

You cannot ring a non console and a console at the same time

The best you can do is use Directed call pickup from the non consoles against the Prime DN of the console while it is ringing.

Really? Well, Directed Call Pkup will have to work then...

.

How can this work if the PN of the console is automatically assigned to console softkey 7?

COS option as of release 4.1

Allow Directed Call Pickup of Attendant Call - allows an extension user to retrieve calls ringing at a console by dialing the call pickup access code followed by the console prime line number.

Select "Yes" to allow an extension user to answer calls, except recalls and callbacks, to an attendant console by using the Call Pickup - Directed feature and dialing the console prime line number. The console must have "Call Pickup - Directed: Accept" enabled in its Class of Service for its calls to be picked up.

kwbMitel, how long have you been programming Mitels??? Perhaps you used to engineer for them?

No, I've never engineered for Mitel.

I have a better than average memory generally speaking and I've been working with Mitel systems since 1987.

With the 3300 I've been working with it since rel 2 (2002) and before that the SX2000 (1997)

With the SX200, The earliest rev I can remember 204 or 205

I've thought of another idea I'd like to share. What about pointing the MTN to a system speed dial? Then programming the destination number of that speed dial as the consoles DN? I'm wondering if I'd then be able to put the consoles DN into pickup groups, program it in coverage answer or maybe even add the consoles extension as a multicall appearance on other IP sets??

Unless something has changed, always a possibility, you will not succeed.

The Console DN or any console LDN is not programmable in any form other than the Console forms (Except as the termination point)

Feel free to try but don't get your hopes up.

You will be showered in Stars if you find a way.

I gave it a shot but nothing worked...

When using the Call Pickup: Directed FAC to answer a call ringing on the console, dial the FAC followed by the extension of the console or DN of the console softkey?

The console must have "Call Pickup - Directed: Accept" enabled in its Class of Service for its calls to be picked up.

It is the Console Prime DN I believe

Yes sir, I have Call Pickup - Directed: Accept enabled in the attendants COS.

Thanks kwbMitel and everyone else who contributed to this thread.
