Hi Guys,

I have a mitel 3300 icp system, we realized that guests are making outside calls by dialing 9 first, is there a way to restrict these phones sets to only dial internal extension.

thanks and any help would be appreciated

Thanks A Million, Im New To The Mitel System, I Will Make The Changes.

There is an easier way. Assign the extensions a COR and assign that COR to a COR group. Then go to ARS, Leading Digits Dialed and assign that COR group to the leading digit 9 COR Group Number field. These extensions will then get Access Denied (reorder tone) when attempting to dial 9.

I've never tried the Max Digits route but that definitely sounds easier.

Cor Group control on the leading digit will prevent 911 dialling (a big no-no is some areas)

I prefer Cor Group Restrictions by call type but this is far more complicated.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

Using COR group blocking does however give you options if you wanted to allow them some limited outside access like to 1-800 numbers.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
