I am looking to connect a Mitel 3300 MXE to a Nortel CS1000 via DPNSS links to utilize the Mitel 3300 embedded voicemail and 5550 attendant console.

Does anyone have experience of this and what features will be available over DPNSS (or which features won't be available) such as message waiting BLF etc

Thanks Loopy Lou, do you know which features transfer with Qsig

Any Index feature that is available when two Index’s are connected via DPNSS these features are still available
when the 3300 ICP’s are in between. This is also true if the connection between the 3300 ICP is IP trunk.
If the 3300 ICP is acting as the V/M this works fine.
Both switches having voicemail boxes on the 3300 ICP worked perfectly well and the message waiting lamps of
each switch could be lit and extinguished by the voicemail.
The call to Auto Attendant works well. The external caller simply dials a 4-digit extension for the Index user this
is mapped to the 4-digit mailbox and as such will dial the cross-referenced 6-digit extension.

This is for an index but should be the same availablity on a nortel

We have been doing a lot of the these integrations. The QSIG will give you everything you need. I'll put the Nortel and Mitel configs in an FAQ tomrrow morning.

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!

Thanks Nytalkin, the configs would be fantastic,

Thanks

as nytalkin says with full QSIG you get all you need. The one thing you have to check is if the Nortel has the necessary licenses for the complete QSIG feature set and if its software is high enought to support the full feature set. Have a site that had all the QSIG options purchased but due to problems with its older software, the Nortel did not deliver all the features. The customer would have had to purchase an upgrade to a newer software load to make everything work. Apparently that was going to be an expensive and they did not want to spend the money as they had made a decision to replace the Nortel due to the current company woes.

Anyway good luck with it.

Nytalkin:

Would really like that FAQ if possible.

I'll even help write it (Mitel Side)

I find myself in in uneviable position of needing this.

Hi Guys,

any news on the FAQ for Qsig connection from Mitel 3300 to Nortel? We have a link from a 3300 to a Nortel and the Nortel end keeps falling over. It would be useful if we could check the settings on both ends against those recommended by you guys.

Thanks
