I'm trying to figure out what to do with this switch to make the phones dial out. I never had any schooling or any classes for this switch. All I was taught was how to use a couple commands and how to change some things. I got a basic understanding of how it works, kind of. Well the problem is that I can't dial out from the switch's pot phones unless I use the Attendant Console. I'm trying to make it so that each phone can dial out without using the Attendant Console. As far as I know, the class of service and the class of restriction are all set the same. If you can give me any help or tips on how to fix this Problem I would really appreciate it.

Can any phones dial out besides the console?

What is the COR of the Console vs. Sets

Just for kicks and giggles, pick an extension (from Form 9) that is not dialing out and make it have the COS, COR and Tenant group the same as a console (You will find that info in form 7).

Be sure to take note of what the original TEN, COS & COR were before you change it.

If that set now can dial out, then you might want to do a dump from form 32 of the "03 - COS definition" and from "19 - Call routing table" (lord know why they don't call it tenant groups).

Also from the console, do you have to dial a leading digit to get out? EG 9 for example. If that is not the case, push the the most bottom right handed button on the phone (not on the number pad but the keys (I'm assuming your using some kind of Superset 4 type thing).

If you get a dial tone then try to dial out directly.

Give us a bit more info on what type of phones you had and was thing thing ever able have the pots lines dial out before?

Is it only POTS lines that can't dial out? Do you have digital sets?

Thanks!!

Jim

Ack You have to ignore my post, I did not realize this was for a 2000 (I gave info for a 200). My apologies.

Alright, I'm using pots and digital sets. I can call internally but I can't call out, unless I use the Attendance Console. From what I've been told, the sets were able to call out at one point. When I go to station service assignment, the class of service is 10 for the operater and all the rest are 2. I changed all the sets to 10 so they can all be the same, but that made no difference. The class of restriction are all set at 2, all the same. When I go to trunk service assignment the COS are all set at 21 and the COR are all set at 1. If you need more information please let me know.

Is this a Hotel Environment?

Is it possible Call Blocking has been activated but improperly set up? Call Blocking is controlled by the console?

I'm on a ship and if call blocking is set up, how would you go about fixing this poblem?

Simple answer, If call block is enabled and the console has the key enabled then one of the console keys that has a light will be lit up. The key is a toggle.

From the console you can check to see if the Hotel Features are enabled. You haven't said what type of console so I will assume SC1000. Press the function key and look for an option Guest or Guest Status or some such in the display.

Alright when I press the function key, it just show me
F1exit F2funtion F3stn function F4trk function F5
F6application F7alarm F8identity F9backup F0bell off
I coudlnt find any guest status.

False alarm then.

I am wracking my brain trying to think of anything that would affect stations but not the console. Where is MitelInMyBlood when you need him. He's the 2K expert.

You've tried a set using the same COS and COR as the console right?

How about interconnect restrictions. is the set interconnect number the same as the console?

Yes I already tried setting the COS and COR all the same as the console. Can you guide me through the steps to interconnect restrictions.

I believe the Console isn't restricted by COR so making a set COR the same as the console may not help. I would look at the Class of restriction group form and try to find a COR number not in any of the groups. Then assign that COR to the phone and test.

LoopyLou, Yes the console COR applies to the Console.

Doesn't hurt to try your suggestion though.

Rey44Marine - go to form Class of Restriction Group Assignment. Numbers that appear in this form are restricted in one form or another. Valid numbers are from 1-64. set the cor of your station to a COR # that does not appear. e.g. 64

Rey44Marine - The interconnect number is programmed in the form applicable for each device.

Set - Multiline or single line assignment form
Trunk - Trunk assignment form
Console - Console assignment form.

An interconnect number MUST be assigned. Typically the number will all be 1's. It will only matter if the numbers are different.

Alright, the only number that is assigned in in COR is 1, so I changed the COR on the phone to 2 and it still does not call out. I used the attendant console to call out and I saw that the trunk is set to COR 1, how do I change the COR for the trunks?

Rey44Marine - I just took a closer look at those console keys you provided earlier. They look suspiciously like an SX200 console as opposed to a SX2000 console.

Then you checked the COR groups did you go into Form 20?

No, I went to the routing assignments. When I explained the function keys earlier, it was for the SC1000. I used the SC1000 to call out. When I do this, I have to access one of the trunks and then it shows the COR in the diplay.

I'm sorry, it was automatic route selection forms, not routing assignment.

Another false alarm.

I was looking for Att Function in your list and I didn't see it. You just listed it as F2-Function

Back on track, sorry.

Have you had a moment to check the Interconnect number of the Stations, Console, and Trunks?

No, I do not know how to check the interconnect numbers
