Hi,

I have a Mitel SX200 installed at a hotel. Of course there is no longer any support for this discontinued product. I do not have console acccess in that I do not have the username or password for this system. I do however found a floppy with a backup of the config file when it was originally installed. I tried to open this file in notepad on my pc and its mostly jibberish charactors. Is there way to get the username/pass from this config file? or anyone know of a program to use to view it fully ?

Have you tried the factory default username & password?

If these have been changed you've done all that you can do and will need to call a Mitel authorized dealer. There is no workaround.

You cannot read the database backup on a PC

If you are able to login using the Maint2 - PW = 1000 and get a current backup of the system it is possible to edit the HEX fields for the password and change them to a known value.

Without a current backup I do not know how to read or translate the hex values.

I know that Mitel charges to reset the password.
I would try the default System and Installer passwords and HOPE that one of those is default.
