Does anybody know how to default or reset the Installer Level Passord on a Mitel SX200EL. This system was handed over to us by the end user (customer) for service and maintenance from the old vendor. The Customer had provided us with passowrds from the old vendor and told not to change the Password. Now we are locked out and need to reset the Password. Mitel will do this for alot of $$$ , which is outragous. Can anyone Help. Thanks!

You are going to have to spend the big $$$ with Mitel to get the passwords. If the customer screwed up in the change, bill them.

3 tech credits is not an unreasonable amount for you to take over another vendor's customer. Would there be a problem getting the required indemnification letter and legal release signed?

Does the customer have any unresolved dispute or an unpaid bill from the other vendor?

In responce to the cost of resetting the password , 3 tech credits was referred to as not unreasonable. I have been quoted $650 to reset, is this a fair price? Does anybody know what the cost is? If I read into 3 tech credits, that would inply $300 for reset. Please advise.

Approximately correct, depending on when you bought them. I think we paid something like $90 apiece for ours, but we've had them for a few years and seldom needed to spend any.

Contact your Mitel Technical Account Manager (TAM) for specifics. However, their web site says it costs 3 tech credits and must be accompanied with the aforementioned documentation. Again, your TAM will have full details.

The actual process will require connecting a modem to the maintenance port of the PBX. You'll need a crossover cable for this because the modem and the PBX are both DTE devices. The crossover cable will make one appear as a DCE device.

It is important to note, prices very country to country.

MitelInMyBlood - you should not release dealer pricing to this forum. It's not far to the rest of us.
