Hi,
We are currently having issues with enabling WPA2 security on our i640 spectralink phones. We are using proxim access points.I am not sure where the problem is as the i640s will initially connect to the SVP server, but then eventually we get the "No SVP response" error. The audio gets really choppy and then the calls drop.

All the access points have the latest firmware and so does the spectralink i640's.

I am try to determine where the issue is. Does anyone have any of the older spectralinks(i340/i640's) working in WPA2 mode and if so what access points are you using?

Thanks for your time!,
-Scott

I have recently set up the spectralink on the HP access points using WPA2. They worked very well. I have had no issue the last 4 months.

Thanks Matt. That is what our vendor has switched over to now. Unfortunately I am stuck with a bunch of Proxim Ap700 access points and no money in the budget to upgrade them. These have been a pain in the butt since we bought them.

We implemented these in 2004/2005, back when proxim, spectralink and Mitel were cozy (and there were not any tools to crack WEP within 5 minutes), but now it appears (from my basic research) that HP is the most recommended AP now.

Oops..I mean "thanks Paterson". Not sure where Matt came from..although it is Monday ;-)

Are you moving or stationary when the "No SVP Response" error is received?

Either. I can be sitting or moving about. If I am stationary here in the main office and putting my phone in scan mode my phone is picking up multiple AP's on separate channels(channels 6 & 11). The one that is closer registers -57 the other one is around -78db - -80db (-70db is the cutoff for acceptable communication I guess).

Putting the phone in WEP mode completely negates the problem and I can get decent reception.
