I am using a Mitel 5215 IP phone remotely in my home office. I recently moved and switched my Internet connection from DSL to cable with a Netgear WGR614 router. As a result, my IP phone no longer works.

I get the Waiting for COMMS message. How do I reboot my phone? Is this different from powering on while holding star key?

Also, when I run the ipconfig command, there seems to be no default gateway IP address for my local area connection. Is this a problem?

Sorry for the novice questions. Thanks for your help...

I seem to have gotten the phone to download correctly, but now no one can hear me when I speak. I can dial other's extensions and I can hear them but no one can hear me.

Has anyone experienced this type of issue?

Your one way audio suggests a problem with the network. You need a gateway IP in the phone or you have a firewall blocking ports. I am not familiar with the Netgear router, but I would look there for the DHCP option of handing out a gateway IP and for firewall rules. If the phone was working before, then the problem is not with the Mitel system or phone, it is definately with the network.
