Hi - we are a small UK charity with a Mitel 3300 IP Phone System supplied to us by British Telecom.

Currently we have some very cheapo music on hold which plays when we transfer calls between extensions. Is there a way we can replace the music with either some sort of beeping tone - or even silence. We don't really like music on-hold and so are not keen to go in that direction.

Any tips for a new user would be very much appreciated.

Regards

Tusky..

The simplest solution... go to the room with the telephone system, look for your music on hold source.
Unplug the music source from either the Mitel or power the music source down.

This will give you silence on call transfers and call hold.

The only issue with silence is some people think you hung up on them.

unless its embedded MOH...just go to the programming interface and wipe the file.

Thanks for all of your responses. I managed to download the free beep tones and upload it to our system - exactly what I wanted to do.

Cheers... T

I'm glad to hear the beep tone worked for you.
My son, a collage student in the audio production field, created it for me.
I've been bugging him to produce some more music but he keeps complaining that "Geeze Dad, I'm a bit to busy."
Kids these days!
