We just aquired a poorly documented already configured office which has a mitel 3300 with a ME (which is not used at all right now)
When going through the ME pages I noticed it requries a 'Desktop Monitor' number which have already been pre-configured for a few inactive users.
When looking on the call controller i noticed there are already a whole heap of 'Deskmon' users.

How can I find out which 'real' number is linked to what desktop monitor number ?

You will find that the number which corresponds to a extension would be the same number but with a * in it...

i.e.

Ext 4419
ME Monitor 4*419

You can find this out by logging into the MAS box (not the 3300) go to "users & Services" find a user, click on him, then select the Mobile Extension tab... it should display the details there...

Which server would be the 'MAS box' ?
I have the ICP3300 itself, an OPS manager, IQ and the ME.

Never mind, i figured it out.

ME works by setting a key to the number you want to twin with on the 'deskmon' users.

I was thinking that all those pre-configured deskmon numbers were already bound to real users, but they were not.

Multiline Set Group Assignment Form will tell you which phones have paired appearances.

Occam's Razor - All things being equal, the simplest solution is the right one.

Your site will have another mitel box which will be the MAS box... it will run on a normal server... i think if you look somewhere on the mitel 3300 box it will display a ip address for data sharing... i think...

The mas box will automactically configure these desktop monitor numbers for you when creating a user/extension.

Hope this helps!
