Hello all I am new with Mitel
I am trying to locate a number but unfortunately I can't find it
I use
Locate number
Locate extension
Check the speed dial
Checked the hunt group
Check the ring group

Unfortunately I can't find the number

We have a extension 2000 some one called and it shows extension 2222 but the user is complaining because no one is on the other line.

We checked the CDR details and the number shows with the time and date of the call.

We tried to trace this extension unfortunately we can't find it.

When I do Locate Extension 2222
It shows "the number is not used"
I used LOCATE ALL FREE DN 2xxx 2xxx
The number 2222 is not in the list that means it is configured somewhere.

Is there any way I can find this number?

locate number" should come back with something if the number exists. "dgt trace [number]" may also tell you something.

Locate number is infallible.

If it says 2222 does not exist, believe it.

Thanks for all the reply unfortunately still i cant find the number

I did DGT Trace 2222
DGT Trace started:
Termination cannot be determined, more digits are required
DGT Trace complete.

I did on a valid speed dial number

DGT TRACE 2050

DGT Trace started:
2050 : system speedcall (17)
DGT Trace completed.

Is there any other command to find unknown number?

We are suspecting that this is a wake up call number. But when we checked the property management and check the wake-up call number it is empty.

I would be questioning the confidence level of the user that reported the 2222 at this point.

Depending on your trunking type, it may be possible for an external number to show up as a 4 digit number as well.

and is it possible 2222 is a valid DID and the phone was showing DNIS digits after some intercept routing?

Maybe run an SMDR log search against 2222, that may help track down the source.

Thanks for all the feedback
Unfortunately we can't still find this number and we don't know how this number are dialing the guest.

We just need to know what is this number and why it was calling the guest at lease we can explain why it was calling the guest

We had a similar issue, also to a guest room. Turns out it was an External Hot Desking Number. Check 2000 and see if 2222 is assigned on the Service Details tab.

Thanks!
