Hi -- Quick question -- What is the buffer size for SMDR data on the ICP 3300? Also, where do I look to see what is currently being stored in the buffer? Thanks!

Pretty sure it is 10000 entries. It will also start over writing the oldest entries when the buffer is full.

You would use the maintenance commands to see them. I would make sure that you do not use the broadest command as it will take quite a while to display all the entries. While you are in the maintenance form, click on the help button for a list of commands. Logsys read smdr is the broadest command, but there are options to filter that before you click commit!

Last I checked the default was 20,000.

I seem to remember this could be modified as well.

Checking without purging requires maintenance commands.

Telnet to ICP address port 1752 with stream (Purge) the data to the connected device.

LOGSYS info: Attributes for SMDR log.[tt]

FILE routed to: .REDUNLOGS.SMDR
PRINT routed to:
RAM size: 32768 bytes.
FILE size: 20000 entries.
Overflow disposition: WRAP
Print header: System OFF Date OFF Reason OFF
Print reason: LOAD
LOAD setting: First 1 Increment 1
ALARM setting: First 0 Increment 0[/tt]

The Size can be modified by using Logsys Size (LOGS S)

Qualifiers:
<logname> RAM <number of bytes>
<logname> FILE <entry count>

Purpose:
Sets the size of the RAM buffer (RAM) or buffer file (FILE) for the specified log.

Details:
It is recommended that you do not change the RAM buffer size. However, with Internal SMDR, the logs capacity may have to be increased to allow for additional call records. The size of the records for the hard drive may be increased to accommodate this change.

Note: The Logsys Size command causes the present contents of the RAM buffer or buffer file to be lost.

ooops! Was it ever 10000? Maybe Mitel recently changed that?? Throw me a bone here!

Bone? Nope, sorry, but how about an anchor? Been 20000 since at least R6.0 ;)

Maintenance logs are 1000.

Paterson - Nope, I've never known it to be anything but 20,000 unless it was changed. That goes back to at least release 4.1.

75000 records is the max. buffer size for smdr

LOGS SIZE SMDR FILE 75000

Daniel
