Customer Setup;
Main incoming ISDN30 number is ringing on 2 x 5224 handsets via multiline keys.
When both handsets are busy, they would like their customers to be played a comfort message, something along the lines of "Thakyou for calling, the operator is busy at the moment, please stay on the line, etc...."
The message would ideally play whilst still trying to reach the busy handsets, so if the phones came free the call would still route.
Someone suggested trying a hunt group instead, with the rad greeting selected. This isn't really suitable as the multiline rings to voicemail in night, and there are message waiting keys programmed against this number.
An ACD setup is also not possible, as the users don't want to have to log in/out.

Any suggestions would be most welcome..
Thanks in advance, for any help given.

You won't get a RAD to play against a Multiline.

Back to the Hunt Group Suggestion.

Have the Call Initially terminate on a Phantom Extension.

Use Call ReRoute to route the Extension to the huntgroup in day mode and voicemail in night mode.

Have 2 or more Phantom Key System lines programmed as the key lines on the phones and members of the hunt group.

Added Bonus by using Key System Lines - Calls can be placed on hold on one set and then picked up on the other.

Directed Call pickup can be used against the Huntgroup master if required.

The VM/Busy lamp are associated with the first Phantom Local.

Thanks for the prompt response...
They don't have any spare user licenses at the moment, so I'll test it on our in house system first.

You don't need spare user licenses.

The "Phantoms" can be programmed as keys on one of your phones.

What I typically do is add a PKM48 in software (no hardware required) to one of my phones and add phantom locals on the keys that do not appear on the set.

Be careful not to make them ring.

Hm, and how to play a message. Would the system play let's say MOH while key system line is ringing?

You set up one of your VM ports as a VM Rad or you use some other external RAD.

You assign the RAD to the huntgroup

When the members are busy, the RAD will play.
