Hi

Can someone tell me if Cisco and Mitel telephone systems work together in the same company network?

If someone can let me know it would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks

Thank you very much.

Do you know if it would work with one side (Cisco) with 4 digit numbering and the otherside (Mitel) with 5 digit numbering.

How would this translate in the telephone network?

You need to have some type of trunking between the two platforms. This can be either SIP trunks, QSig trunks or straight PRI. You would need ARS ( automatic route selection ) programming to route the calls between the different phone systems. It will not matter if one system uses 4 digital extension numbers and the other 5.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Thats great thank you all for the info it is appreciated.

dependant on what you are looking to achieve / the hardware you have .... if all users are on the same site you could use a netvitesse gateway to register the cisco phones as SIP devices with the 3300.

I have had success with SIP trunks between the two systems

NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!

Thank you all very much for the information.
