We have a Mitel 3300 and our receptionist uses a Mitel 5550 IP Console.
Some extensions are not showing up on the BLF list. How can I fix that?

Thank you,

I don't work with consoles much but I believe the extension needs to be a BLF somewhere in the system to show up.
You can create a phantom extension and program BLF keys on it, then I believe they will then be available on the console.

thats correct as far as i remember
- we create an extension set it as trusted and add dual 48 PKM's then add every extension programmed to it as dss keys

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

It's been a while.....

1/ Log onto the 3300 controller. Go to the "remote busy lamp" form. Review and add any missing office extensions.
(The 5550 IP console obtains extension data from this form).
2/ Next, restart the console application. This will force a re-sync of extension data from the controller,
but does not update the BLF list with new extensions just yet.
3/ From the console application, select a sub-menu option to edit / create BLF lists.
(I can't recall exactly which main menu item to select).
An editing window appears, listing extensions read from the controller.
The window provides tools to create, edit and customise BLF list(s).

I added the missing extension in Remote Busy lamp but it did not display the name nor can I add the name

any idea?

Have you added the name in the Telephone Directory form?

Yes the name is in the directory

I like Billz answer, before trusted we used to add a phantom per node with phantom card hosting phantom set with pkms :)

Can you please explain how to add a phantom
Thanks

You create a new user and device as you normally would except that you set the service level to 'Trusted'
This has the benefit of not using a license and can be programmed as 5340 (or similar), you can then add a PKM if you like to give more keys.
These keys can then be programmed as DSS/BLF etc...

You can also make up a phantom PKM on an extension by going Multiline IP sets. Then adding the extensions as DSS keys you should then have it show up BLF list on the 5550

I use the trusted device method of creating DSS keys

An additional benefit is you can make the phone(s) resilient to another controller to create the same keys on 2 systems at the same time.
