Hi All,

We were sent a 5330 from the States to use as a Teleworker in South Africa.
When we connect the phone to ADSL line to a netgear 300M DSL router the phone registers and we can communicate to the states.
We connect the DSL to a Sonicwall TZ215 and the phone registers, but there is no audio.
Clearly the problem is on the Sonicwall, as we can see traffic leaving, but no return traffic.

from docs we read, all ports needed are open, but still no audio.

could someone point me in the right direction here please.

Get them to send you the teleworker nbetwork analyser , run it behind teh sonicwall and it will show the ports that aren't open

or post a list of the ports you have opened and we can advise you whats missing

and due to an endless stream of MiCollab , MiCC issues
Life would be simpler If only they tested products properly before releasing them .....

Check that SIP Transformations is disabled on the Sonicwall.

Unlikely to be sip related unless the phone is in sip mode

6801 and 6802 are required I believe.

What's most important is that you realise ... There is no spoon.

Have you enabled consistant NAT on the sonicwall?

Someone has to learn how to do it!

you need TCP 3998 6801 6802 6881

and on the MBG you should lower the upper limit of ports to something more realistic

we use 20000 21000 for smaller sites ( uses 4 ports per phone)

then allow UDP 20000 - 21000 ( or whatever yous et as the upper limit )

Hi All,

Thanks for your valued input. we have the phone operational.

Just 1 hick up. Once the phone has boot and logged in,Screen changes to the following

do you have all the ports opened that were listed?

this is from one of mine ( i would also remove your post with the image as it contains the public IP )

I think you will find its the 3998 or 6881 that causes that ( you may also want to lower the MBg setting to 1024)
