Good Afternoon,

Someone just asked me a question regarding Mitel, I know more LG personally.
So to you, the question goes:-

"We have a small business and going to be operating 4 phones. 2 in an office, and 2 off site. They are connected to our VoIP provider, Soho66.co.uk through the SIP protocol.

All the phones so far work well apart from a few things. We are able to make internal/external calls and receive them okay, however neither the Hold function nor the Transfer function work.

When on an internal call and the Hold key is pressed, the Line 1 button changes from solid green to flashing amber and the hold music is played as it should, however;

When on an external call, the Hold key is pressed, the Line 1 button changes from solid green to flashing amber, but the call remains active. I can still hear the caller, and the caller can still hear me.

Also, the Transfer button does nothing when pressed on both internal/external calls in an attempt to transfer the caller to a different extension.

I have accessed all the settings I can find through the web interface logging in as Admin, but am unable to find any section relating to hold/transfer. I have contacted Soho66, who are unable to provide any support as they are unfamiliar with the Mitel phones.

Do you have any suggestions as to what I can try?
"

Any solution would be appreciated.

how´s the setup? do you have the 5220s in SIP mode connecting directly to the sip provider?

or, do you have the 5220s in minet mode registered to a Mitel, and then the Mitel have some SIP trunks to the provider?

Is a mitel PBX is present please tell us what model and software version

Chhers

No PBX, the handsets are connected to the VoIP provider (Soho66) via SIP protocol.

Thanks for the response.
