Im not too familiar with the Mitel 5000, current have a single pri coming in providing trunking, would like to switch to analog trunking appx 10-12 trunks is this possible?

Yes, if you have an HX it will have four analogue trunk ports built in, a CS has two.

Add LSM4 cards into the main unit to expand the analogue trunking capabilities.

Currently have a pri coming in, how difficult is the programming to change everything to analog?

forgive me but i have to ask why ??

If its not broke tweak it..

Customer is getting a better offer on analog trunks, I think it should stay pri

You are right they should stay, They will be going from 23 channels down to 10-12. They will also lose any DID's. You can re-use the same trunk group, just replace the B-Channels with your loop start trunks. Instead of going to a Call Routing Table, you will set ring in destination in the trunk group. Don't forget to enable Caller ID on the individual trunks (not on by default)if they go LS.

I am not familiar with mitel programming, do I need to DL a utility or is managed via web? Also, what are the default passwords?

You will need "Session Manager" or "Mitel System Administration" software depending on system software version. You can get it via your dealer/distributor.

619Tech you forgot to mention the expense of the extra hardware and, personally i could not think if anything worse that putting 12 alog circuits on any system, surely there is a better option why not reduce the number of pri channels or go with another provider at a cheaper price, hell if your feeling really brave go SH1T sorry SIP..

If its not broke tweak it..

I agree with keeping the pri as is, any good resources for programming a 5000 we are primarily an avaya shop?

Can the customer not go back to the Telco providing the PRI service and reduce the quantity of D channels to reduce costs?
