Hi All,

I'm after a little advice as a newly trained Mitel 5000 engineer.

I have been asked to upgrade a 2 node Mitel 5200CS site from 2.4 up to the latest revision of 5. The site have Callview, Callview Navigator on site also at software level 4.2. I'm not Callview trained (yet!) but am just trying to clarify if I will need to do anything on the Callview as well. As far as I can tell in the documentation I can get my hands on Callview integrates fine with Mitel 5000 from version 1.x, but as I say, just wanted to confirm. Also, 4.2 appears to be a fairly new revision.

They have a call recorder via Audiolog and Call Popping software also, and I don't think I'll need to touch those either.

The reseller will be getting new flash cards/issuing new licensing for the 5000 upgrade so I think the upgrade of the nodes should be fairly straight forward, with the fall back of putting the old flash cards back in should anything go really wrong.

Any advice you can offer would be really appreciated.

by no means am I an expert on the 5000.
However Callview previously ran on a windows machine.
This has now been superceeded by CSM which runs on MSL (mitel standard linux.
I dont know if callview is compatible with Mitel 5000 version 5 software - you may need to upgrade callview to CSM.

Worth checking

Might want to wait a little longer as 5.1 is supposed to be available first couple of week of Decemeber.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Is that 5.1 of 5000 firmware? Do you know if that'll be compatible with Callview 4.2? I appreciate that Callview appears to be old and CSM is the latest version.

ITs 5.1 software for the 5000. No idea what call view is or whether its supported.

In most cases if you upgrade system software you need to look closly at the copatibility of the attached applications. Therefore you need to check with the manufacturer if CallView, Audiolog etc is compatible with the software you are going to otherwise you may find yourself up the proverbal creek without a means of propulsion.
