Hello my fellow technicians!

I recently set up a 5000 at a Baptist Church in key system mode as in I put all the individual trunks on the phone and the extensions automatically select the line pool when they pick up the handset (house phone on ) thereby bypassing intercom and the need to press 8 to dial out. They wanted it to function like the Partner system that the new 5000 replaced.

All is well but they want the conference room to be restricted to local and internal calls only. Can this be done since they are selecting the trunk directly on pickup? I tried to make it work, but have been unsuccessful. Any info on how to solve the problem would be appreciated.

Thanks!
Eric

They should not be selecting the trunk directly

Typically you would set the House Phone feature to either ARS access or to the trunk group. Both would have restriction capability.

Modifying above,

I realise now that only ARS has restriction after selection, thus you need to enable ARS

Thanks,

Ok, so set house phone to yes. Have house phone select "ARS access" in the window box for day and night
Turn ARS on. Then apply restrictions ...Only problem is, if someone directly selects a trunk by pressing the key, then lifts the receiver, ARS and the applied restriction will be bypassed, correct?

Eric

Ps. Big problem is they want the dang line appearances on the phone!

Reminds me of a joke.

Man goes to doctor and says, "Doc, it hurts when I do this, what do you recommend?"

Doctor replies - Don't do that.
