Hi guys

I have a Mitel 5000 behind a draytek router. Have set the opn ports on the draytek.

However at the remote end the phone hangs at showing the like ip and nat Ip address. Downloads tftp ok but wont connect.

Eventually got a phone working but only behind basic home routers that don't really have a firewall. also got it working on a net gear but only after adding a firewall rule. I won't to get this working without any of this hassle, the way it usually works

Normally this solution works a treat but I'm sure it's something to do with the draytek at the headend doing something.

Any ideas?

If it's a 2820 down grading it to 3.3.3 firmware usually helps.

Have you turned off SIP ALG, you need to telnet into the Draytek to do this, unfortunately it's not just a tick box.

It is a 2820 actually mate. Sip alg is turned off

Will check the firmware

Have you got this setup?

Yep, on loads of sites. Draytek 2820 is/was our default router for this sort of setup.

NTEdave then you could be my saviour!!

So the remote phones are behind all other makes with no problem?

Are all your sites drayteks on firmware 3.3?

Have you ever experienced what I'm seeing?

Really appreciate your help, draytek support not being overly helpful

At the Mitel 5000 site we always use Draytek, always on 3.3.3 firmware.

At the remote IP Phone end you can use any router without any port forwarding etc.

I can't remember what the problem was with newer versions of firmware now as we always just flash them back, it was either your issue or it would connect but without voice.

Hi Dave

Ok thanks I will look into the version

If you think of anything else would appreciate it

Thanks mate

HI dave

Do you have a copy of 3.3.3 as can;t seem to find it now.

The Draytek on this site is on 3.3.5.2 so going to try 3.3.7 which only came out this month. If that doesn;t work will try downgrading. But need 3.3.3

Hi Dave

Upgraded to 3.3.7 and got a little closer, now the phone is hanging at "waiting for comms"

Do you put the 5000 in the DMZ on the draytek or use Open Ports?

Hi Matt

Use OPen Ports, the DMZ doesn't work.

Likn for all versions of 2820 firmware:

ftp://ftp.draytek.com/Vigor2820/Firmware/

Thanks Dave. Can you confirm which ports you opened on the draytek please

Really appreciate your help on this been driving me bonkers!

Hi Matt

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you.

Ports to forward:

3998-3999 TCP
4000 TCP (If you want to administer the system remotely)
5004-5007 UDP Range
5060 UDP (Not needed for IP endpoints but sometimes needed for SIP Trunks)
5566 TCP
5567 UDP
5570 TCP
6004-7039 UDP Range
6800-6802 TCP Range
20001 UDP
50098-50508 UDP Range

Excellent, thank you for the actual star!

Did you use the 3.3.3 firmware in the end or did you get a newer version to work with the port forwarding?

Used 3.3.3 but I think 3.3.7 will work ok . Went to 3.3.7 but had another issue which I resolved but only once I went to 3.3.3. Going to try upgrading again
