Hi

Have just started messing about with the Mitel 5000 system after completing the course 6 months ago.

The course material was very basic and the installation manual isnt helping a great deal. Does anyone know if there are any good programming manuals online (for dummies preferably)?

One thing I am stuck with is creating an auto attendant. I have added the Auto attendant app under devices but how do you go about specifying where each number pressed takes you?

btw, I'm used to the Ayaya phone system so my programming logic tends to relate to how its done on IP Office

Im in the same boat - the manuals give NO good info on how to program anything. I havent taken the course yet but by the sound of it , it may not be worth it......let me know if you come across any docs. I'll do the same.

dont create an Auto Attendant, you need to create a "Call Routing Announcement", then go under the "digit translation

MitelExpert, it's worth doing the course but take lots of notes as things are often done in a strange way. Also make sure you get out and do an install straight away if you can and not wait 6 months like i did!

cewallen, I worked that out in the end Thanks, and realised that an auto attendant on a 5000 isn't what most would recognise as an auto attendant. as on the 5000 it just seems to be somewhere to send calls when noone is available to handle the calls rather than the first destination/menu of a call.

it's a waist of time to ever use the "auto attendant" or "auto attendant recall" applications. I have been working with "inter-tel" since the axxess v4.2 and have never found a reason too use these. Call routing apps make everything easy and seamless.

You're my new best friend then BWar :) Might get a lot of questions from me as being thrown into the deep end soon with installs.

no problem. I think you will like working with these systems. user friendly and tech friendly once you learn the tricks.

What version is your 5000? i may have some CDs or other info i could get to you

It's a new HX controller but we will support the old cs controllers too here on. The HX is on version 4. Cheers

Im playing around with day/night mode and can see the feature codes for enabling and disabling it for the system but can it not be done on a per huntgroup basis?

Also, Ive just setup a configuration assistant but when i dial it I just get silence!!?? On the 5000 webpage it says the prompts are installed....
