I currently have a PRI connected to a 5000. I have two loop lines in the system that I want to automatically be accessed on dialout if the PRI goes down. How do I configure this? Do I have to implement ARS? What options would I have to do it without setting up ARS.

Thanks!

i havent tested it to see if it will really use the 2nd trunk group if the PRI is unplugged but you would need to use ARS

in the trunks of the ARS form you will need to put the PRI trunk group first and then the analog trunk group.

without setting up ARS you would have to fail it over manually. so if the PRI is down, either have users dial the trunk group for outgoing access or change the outgoing extension on all of the sets in DB Programming.

why not use ARS? its very easy to set up on the 5000
