I have a customer that has a hunt group with many members.
They currently log in through the phone display.
They also use Dynamic Extension Express with simultaneous ringing to the cell phone.
They IT guy recently realized that a HG call will not ring the cell phone of the user that is utilizing Dynamic Extension Express (it only rings the desk phone-however DEE will will normally without a HG call).
I looked in the manual and it states HG calls will not follow DEE.
That being said, I am trying to figure out a solution for them for remote users.
All I can come up with is using softphones and Hot Desking.

Does anyone have any ideas before I consult Mitel?

I believe the latest release of software works but in a previous (R5) release this bug was present, we found it was only when the human answer supervision (or whatever it's called) was on :)

So in R5 a HG call will flow to DEE and ring both the desk and Cell phone?
I took the update course online and it did not mention that.
I guess worst case scenario I could call Mitel.

Feature Limitations
The following call types do not follow Dynamic Extension Express:
• Hunt group calls
• Hunt group announcement/overflow calls
• Transfer recalls
• Hold recalls
• Conference recalls
• Attendant recalls

Haha, yeah anything after page 3 can be a challenge ;) Fortunately it came up quickly using the search feature to go thru the doc while checking if the latest had changed the way DEE works with hunt groups. I had a quick look into this because we've been asked about the same thing by customers in the past and an earlier suggestion here caught my eye as it indicates that if some bug is fixed, DEE is believed to now route hunt group calls.

amriddle, have you actually managed to do DEE with hunt group calls? Your post suggests you have and the answer will be v useful to pbx and I, cheers.

Here are a couple of things I got from forums.
I have not tried them yet though.

1) Try disabling Human Answer Supervision in Users and test to see if that works.

Supposedly this was a bug that is corrected in version 5.0

2) Create a phantom extension, add it to the Hunt Group, and create a USER for Dynamic Extension Express in that User put the cell phone of the person working remotely. This way the 2 phones will ring at the same time. The only draw back to this is that you supposedly lose the push/pull feature.

1) It wont take long to untick a box and place a test call so well worth a try but I very much doubt this bug is stopping DEE handling group calls, based on the fact that DEE isn't meant to even deal with calls to groups in the first place (from what we both read)

2) Aren't you just using DEE still, but on a phantom instead?

Moving away from DEE for a sec to come up with other solutions for you, tell the forum more about these remote workers, are they at a remote site, on the road, using laptops, got smartphones etc? A hunt group is normally for people who are at their desk, in the office, not so much a group of people out and about.

Also did you check with Mitel yet...there are a few bolt-on options, like the UC software and things that might assist you here.
