Does anyone know if you can configure a Mitel 5000 to give a visual indication if a new voicemail message is received ? The voicemail is the phone company's voicemal. The customer does not want to switch from the telephone company's voicemail. Thanks

You would just get the stutter tone when you pick up the line that has the voicemail. I can't think of a way the system could possibly interpret that and light a lamp.

I have dreamed a dream, but now that dream has gone from me.

Just amazing that on this phone system it doesn't appear that it can be done. All the other systems I work on have this option.

A 5000 is not a key system by default. I could see key systems having that feature. Customer should be using the embedded voicemail...it's pretty feature-rich.

I would say the exact opposite, none have this ability to my knowledge.

Maybe we do not understand exactly what you are looking for?

This feature was recently added to Avaya IP Office, but it's pretty much just the key/legacy systems that support it apart from that :)

@ amriddle01
So, a system connected to an analog trunk that has stutter dialtone and special voltage to engage a lamp on a standard POTs phone will be recognised by a PBX/Key system and can be used to trigger a visual indication on the phone?

Thanks amriddle01.

I was being honest when I said I've never worked on a system that could do that.
