Mitel 5000 CT Gateway oddity 1

Installed a CT Gateway within a customer network for access to 2 nodes for the Attendant Consoles. The 2 Nodes are accessible from anywhere within the network via ping and Admin & Diag & DB programming. Whenever the two IP address are programmed within the CT Gateway it sees one fine but the other one gives this error:

Node Number: 2 Premium Feature(s): unknown
Potential RS-232 Data Corruption

On the other Node:

Node Number: 1 Premium Feature(s): OAI Commands & Events

Any ideas where I should look for the fault?

Check your System Serial Ports and see if your OAI has been assigned to go out a physical port (RS-232 error) instead of a socket connection.

Have you tried to configure Node 2 in on it's own?

That will be the next step. I am 500 miles away but my coworker in the area can perform that to see if it works fine locally to to the other switch.

Did you figure this out I have the exact same problem

Only one node works at a time if I swap them around the problem moves so its always the second node that does not work

If its not broke tweak it..

We moved the gateway to the second node and the same problem presented itself, it saw the local node but the remote node (the first one) couldn't be seen just as TLDuk stated

It makes me wonder of the CT Gateway is also using some other port than 4000 (or 44000)...

Just fixed this for me.

Mine setup was new and we haven't networked the sites together yet turns out CT gateway does not like Node number duplicates no that the error tells you this.

I had to change one of the local node ID`s to 2 under devices and feature codes / nodes / local reboot the system and restart the CT server and as George at Mitel would say "Life is good"

Allso check you have the following license features

That's what was missing...those two licenses on the remote node. The other one has them.

The Nodes do need to be unique for networking also, as you found out...you also need to make sure your IP connections are unique in each node, by default they are the same. Once your nodes can talk to each other...import everything from the other node and you should be set with your network
