Hi all,

I have a Gn Netcom 2120 Direct Connect headset that works with 2 of our 3 Mitel Superset 4150 phones. For some reason it doesn't work on the third. It seemd to be hit an d miss becuase I have tried the headset on other 4150 and sometimes it works and sometimees it doesn't.

On the 4025 seris phones they all have a dedicated headset jack but the headsets do not work... well, you can only hear, when you go to speak it seems that the microphone is not turned on.

Any Idea ? Does th actual phone need to be programmed differently ?

Actually I thisk I mis-stated that.
If you want to use the aux headset jack make sure the phone is not in headset mode.
The symptom you mention (no mic audio) is characteristic of this.

Are you talking about the headset softkey being on/off when you refer to operator headset mode ?

Headsets on SuperSets have always been hit or miss, unless you use Mitel's suggest headset... Doesn't make sense to me, but I have repeat your issue time and time and time again (seriously). I have yet to figure why as well?

Headsets can be a good profit center, but they can also be a royal PITA.
They became such a support liability for us that we outsourced the task to the local Panasonic rep about 10 years ago (we get a 5% referral fee without lifting a finger).

We're completely out of the loop now and I like that.
The customer calls (or emails) the Panasonic rep who in turn makes an appointment to come over and meet them, often same day.
He brings along a sample case plus a few of the more popular models out in his van that he can "deliver & install" immediately.
He takes as much time as needed to demo each one on the customer's phone and makes sure all the settings are as they should be, instructs customer on usage, shows them how to change battery, etc.
The customer is advised of all costs up front so there's no surprises and they pay using their department's credit card so there's also no billing or payment hassles.

The guy also handles any service issues, including coming over N/C to change a battery for a Putz user.

True the customer could save about 25% by going mailorder, which is substantial considering these things go for several hundred bucks apiece, but for the level of service I don't see how we can go wrong; it keeps us out of the dang headset business.

I found the problem Guys. It seems that there are different revision on the Mitel Superset 4025 and 4150 phones. To my current knowledge any phone with revision F and prior works with the GN Netcom Headsets. (The revision can be found on the back of the phone on the white sticker - bottom left hand corner)Anything G and after does not work properly.

Thanks....
