I've got a Mitel 3300 I need some help tweaking.

In short, we switched from PRI lines to POTS lines, but now it takes 4 rings on the outside before we hear one ring on the inside.

Changing AA, VM, displays.

Willing to pay someone who can help set us up straight.

I'm a Nortel, Avaya, Switchvox, FreePBX guy and my brief foray into the Mitel and I can't stand it.

Please email me - westley at da-parish.com

Thanks,
Westley

Do me a favor. Take a brand new Class of service and asign it to the trunks.

I'll bet the trunks are waiting for caller id which telco is not probably sending.

Try that and let us know. If that doesn't work i'll think of sonething else.

Also, as you are using pots, don't forget to calibrate the trunks following the milliwat procedure.

I haven't assigned the trunks yet, but this is what I have for the new Class of Service (I'm assuming this is defaults). I don't want to change the trunk assignments while no one is actually in the office.

Hi Dan,

Finally had a chance to change the class of service and we are now ringing on the first ring!

Now, my next question:
Where do I look to check the auto-attendant settings? Want it to only answer after hours and if no one answers fast enough during the day.

Thanks,
Westley

Wesly,

All trunks have a Trunk Service (trunk attribute) number. The trunk service number specifies the Non-dial in answering point, that's where your trunk is answered.

Outside working hours (when your pbx is in say night1 mode) your trunk should be answered by directory number of you voice mail hunt group.

During normal operation time you should call reroute your answering point to directory number of your voicemail hunt group.

Give it a try and post back.

Have a look at the help online

Regards,

Daniel

Your original issue was caused by having ANI delivery trunk enabled. This is not required for Analog lines.
