Mitel 3300 + TELEDEX SIP dialed Key detection?

Hi everyone,

I have a Mitel 3300MXe with some TELEDEX SIP phones with speed dial buttons configured for different services (i.e. Laundry, room service, maid, etc), all calls attended by phone operator - Console IP5500.

The idea is to let the operator know how answer according to the button pressed in the SIP phone:

SpeedDialButton "A" - Laundry
SpeedDialButton "B" - Room Service
SpeedDialButton "C" - Maid

As of now phones speed dial buttons dial to different extensions. Because calls attended by console only identifies the room number extension that generates the call.

As a workaround I assigned an extra extension to a Sofkey in the console and programmed room phone's SpeedDial buttons to dial that specific extension so whenever that extension flashes in the operator's console operator knows how to answer the call, yet it has been done only for one service out of 5 (not enough soft keys).

Is there a way to send information from the SIP phone to the console on what button has been presed in order to identify preferred service? Is this even possible with different brand SIP phones? Any help is highly appreciated!.
 
nametag hunt groups?

(I haven't tested this but might need to do something similar soon)

each SpeedDialButton to dial a different nametag hunt group

add names for the nametag hunt group to the telephone directory (it is these names the operator will hopefully see)

specify the operator's extension in the hunt group (or maybe have the nametag hunt groups 'call forward always' to the operator/a softkey on the operator's phone)

the name of the nametag hunt group may appear as the operator answers the call (rather than before)

or maybe I have this totally wrong....

please let us know how it goes
