Mitel 3300: SS420 1

Hi Guys-

Can anyone tell me if we can lock or disable a Superset 420 phone?

Meaning - a user is leaving on vacation and does not want to unplug their phone and lock in cabinet.

Instead they would like to lock it or not allow others to use it.

Phone Lock feature is Not available to 420's according to the feature matrix.

420 is Family 3 set.

Phone lock for family 3 only applies to:
5020, 5220, 5224, 5324 and Navigator

Move it to a phantom bay? You ask an interesting question. I'm not sure how someone could do that.

If internal calls are ok then you could use the MAXIMUM DIALED DIGITS or ARS MAXIMUM DIALED DIGITS form to create a COR that restricts the number of digits that are dialable on the trunks. If you set it to three at least 911 would be possible ( in some areas its required by law to allow 911 from all phones ).

Another option might be to interconnect restrict it form calling anything and everything from calling it. That way the phone is pretty much useless so people would not likely try to use it.

The single biggest problem with communications is the illusion that it has taken place.

If all you want is to disable the phone the just busy out the cct using a maintenance command.

Busy X X X X where X X X X = PLID of phone

RTS X X X X will Return to service
