Can anyone tell me how to achieve a very simple requirement on a Mitel 3300 .

2 x trunks are required to go to a cascade ring group in day mode

DN4123 (5 rings/15 sec) -> DN4110 (5 rings/15 sec) -> Voice Mail for DN4123

In Night mode the same trunks are required to go straight to DN4123 voice mail and this works fine, however in day I am getting iether call dropped or default attendant greeting depending on how I set up overflow point for the group.

In another thread it refers to terminating call at DN (as voice mail will use the first destination as VM box) and forwarding that DN to hunt group, but I want the DN to be part of the group which would seem to be impossible as it would be an endless loop.

Any pointers would be gratefuly appreciated.

Your problem in day mode is the fact that the call was offered to a Ringgroup. The ringgroup number will not be send to the VoiceMail system. One way of solving this is to add a Nametag HG as aswer poing for th etrunks and in day mode it will be forwarded always to the Ringgroup and a First alternative to the VM. In Night mode CFA to VM.

Thanks,

I will try that, but how do I specify that the first alternative vm box is the on associated with station 4123

The front end Nametag hunt group would have to be DN4123. The ringgroup would get a new DN. You would put a message waiting key for mailbox 4123 on the appropriate phones.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
