Hi,

I have a Mitel 3300 MCD 5.0 and I want to do rerouting for my directors.

I have an extension 7200 that when he receives a call from the outside and either he is busy or doesn't respond it then goes to his assitant, and if she doesn't answer it then goes to the receptionist to then either be forwared to his voicemail or his cell, depending on the urgency. However if it is an internal call and he is busy or doesn't answer it then goes to his voicemail instead of going to his assitant.

Right now I have a 1st Alt route for External calls going to his assitant but then just rings on her line if she doesn't answer instead of going to the receptionist. I have the 2nd Alt route going to his voicemail for Internal calls which works great.

Is there anything that can be done to make this work?

Thanks

Check number of reroute hops allowed in COS. usually set to 2 as default.I assume you have rerouted the assistants calls to the receptionsist?

Thanks, but I don't seem to be able to find the reroute hops in my COS.

Yes the assitants have their lines transfered to the receptionist as well but I read somewhere that it didn't use the number forwared to to route??

Ok found the Hops and modified it to 4 but it still doesn't do my last transfer to the receptionist. It just continuously rings until you pick it up.

Rerouting follows the primary source and not the interim destinations

If you want prime then secretary then reception then cell then they all must be defined against the prime

There are exceptions where forwarding overrides routing but you get the point

Personally, I think your better off to sent the call to vm and let the caller choose. Too many rings otherise

yes I realize that it will be a lot of rings but this is how we were working with the old phone system. Actually I want it to go from the prime to assitant then receptionist only. She would be the last destination andwould be able to put the user through to either the voicemail or transfered to the cell phone depending on the urgency of the caller.

Use fwd internal codes to route the internal calls

Fwding overrides routing

Use first alt to get to secretary and second alt to get to reception

2nd alt timing is either via cos or system option

Thanks works great!

Just one more issue I'm trying to resolve. I have Spectralink 8440 phones that are configured in the Mitel under Generic Sip Phone with a nupoint voicemail. When a user changes their voicemail password it also changes the Line's Access and Authentication Pin. Is there a way that they are not interlinked or is this normal?

Thanks

Strange. Where are they changing the password. The Nupoint isn't that integrated to the MCD.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

The voicemails were just created and when they pass the tutorial it asks them to change the password and then after their Spectralink 8440 cannot register with the MCD. I then reset the Access Pin and restart the phone and then it works once again. It is just happening with the Spectralink phones only. The regular Mitel phones we are not having any issues.

I believe this will happen if have single point provisioning enabled in MAS. If you have hotdesk users you will probably find the same issue where their PIN will be changed to whatever you set it to in the NuPoint tutorial.

Sarond , you are correct and Ive been told by Mitel that even without single point provisioning enabled , this is foxed and cannot be changed.

Any user account in the MCD with a nupoint mailbox will have their authentication pin number changed to match the nupoint one whenever it is changed in the nupoint.

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Ah then it must be a MAS based Nupoint. That would explain it since SPP does work with a stand alone Nupoint. Yet.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.
