Hi,

I have a Mitel 3300 system with Mitel 5312 IP phones. I came into work to find the phones are all off (no power on screen) there is ONLY one phone was showing the IP address and the Mitel box ip address.

So i went down to the Mitel Box (3300) and noticed the light was flashing red (the left light with the alarm bell symbol). I cant find out whats wrong with the system.

I cant find any reference to the issue as i cant login to the Mitel Box over the network, (the IP address just time out trying to connect. The other thing that i noticed is that the power light (right hand side) goes from green to red on occasion?

any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Nick

Call your dealer.
Here is really not the place to get help with a down system.

Hi, ok before i do, is there a way to access the 'mitel communications director' interface which i normally access via an ip address, by directly plugin in somehow?

The red flashing power LED means the controller has detected an error and is attempting a reset. Potentially the system is stuck in a looping state. you need to get a Mitel technician to check that over, assuming you are not a mitel technician that is :)

Naturally Waldo, but there are plenty of technicians out there that wouldn't have checked. I didn't see Coxy's second post before i had replied however.

connect to maintenance port with the terminal emulator of your choice (i.e. hyperterminal, putty, etc.) and have a look at the output, you should be able to see what the error is. Send us a print screen.

Most likely you have a faulty hard drive.

Hi, Im not a mitel technician, but ill have a look by plugging into the maintenance port and seeing what the error log says. thanks guys and i'll report back!

what maintenance command do i run once connected with HyperTerminal?
